WebP to PNG
Convert WebP images to PNG with transparency intact — for editors, design tools, and older software that still refuses to open a .webp file.
Runs entirely in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Why you ended up with a WebP
Almost every WebP file sitting on a desktop got there the same way: someone saved an image from a website. Browsers have shipped WebP support for years and site owners use it because it is roughly a third smaller than the equivalent PNG, so what looks like an ordinary picture on the page arrives on disk with an extension half your software has never heard of. Older versions of Photoshop need a plugin, plenty of print and slide tools reject it, and some Windows apps show nothing but a blank thumbnail.
PNG is the safe landing place. It is lossless, it carries a full alpha channel, and essentially nothing made in the last twenty-five years fails to open it. Converting here decodes the WebP in your browser and writes a PNG with the pixels unchanged and any transparent areas preserved, so a logo with a see-through background stays see-through instead of picking up a white box the first time you place it on a coloured slide.
How to convert WebP to PNG
- 1
Add the WebP files
Images saved from the web are often WebP now, which trips up older editors and some print workflows. Drop in up to 20 files.
- 2
Confirm PNG as the output
Transparency survives the conversion. A WebP with an alpha channel becomes a PNG with the same alpha channel, not a white background.
- 3
Download the PNG
PNG is the safe interchange format: every editor, every operating system preview, and every clipart pipeline reads it without a plugin.
